Description

The Polish premiere of Willem Pijper's String Quartet No. 5 (unfinished) at the 6th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by Holland Strijkkwartet (Nap de Klijn - 1st violin, Jaap Schroder - 2nd violin, Paul Godwin - viola, Carel van Leeuwen Boomkamp - cello) on 23 September 1962 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Hall.


It consists of two movements:




  1. Allegretto;
  2. Poco adagio.
