Description

The world premiere of Magdalena Długosz's On the Edge of Light for large symphony orchestra, solo electroacoustic layer and live electronics at the 62nd Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The piece was performed by Michał Pewełek (interpretation of the electroacoustic layer) and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Wilson Hermanto during the opening concert on 20 September 2019 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall. Sound directors: Barbara Okoń-Makowska, Przemysław Kunda.


The composition was commissioned by Warsaw Autumn.

Description The 'Sound Chronicle of the Warsaw Autumn' 2019 consists of three audio CDs and presents recordings of opening and closing concerts as well as Youth Section of the Polish Composers’ Union concert. The project was subsidized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the National Institute of Music and Dance programme ‘Muzyczny ślad‘ (Musical Trace). The album was released thanks to the support of the Society of Authors ZAiKS. The project partner was Repliq Media Sp. z o.o.
