Henryk Mikołaj Górecki at the stage of the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall after the performance of his Old Polish Music, Op. 24 by the Warsaw Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrzej Markowski.

The world premiere of the work took place on 24 September 1969 as part of the 13th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.
