Witold Lutosławski at the head of the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble after the performance of his Preludes and Fugues for 13 solo string.

The Polish premiere of the work took place on 30 September 1973 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall during the final concert of the 17th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.
