Krzysztof Penderecki bows to the audience after the performance of his Canon for string orchestra and tape by the Great Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio under the direction of Jan Krenz.

The world premiere of the composition took place on 20 September 1962 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall as part of the 6th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.
