Polish composer Jan Oleszkowicz and flautist Elżbieta Dastych-Szwarc on the stage of the Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music after the performance of the piece Bird of Death.


The world premiere of the work took place on 29 September 1984 as part of the 27th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.
