Alois Hába's String Quartet No. 14 performed by the Novák Quartet, consisting of: Bohuslav Purger (first violin), Dušan Pandulla (second violin), Josef Podjukl (viola), and Jaroslav Chovanec (cello).
The Polish premiere of the work took place on 22 September 1964 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Hall during the 8th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.
The quartet consists of six parts:
- Allegro energico
- Allegro agitato
- Andante leggiero
- Allegretto scherzando
- Andante cantabile
- Allegro risoluto
