Description

The Polish premiere of Edgard Varèse's Nocturnal for soprano, chorus of basses and orchestra during the 26th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music. The piece was completed based on the composer's sketches by Chou Wen-chung.


On 25 September 1983 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall, the composition was performed by Małgorzata Armanowska (soprano), the Choir of the State Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and the Great Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television in Katowice conducted by Stanisław Wisłocki.
