The world premiere of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's Scontri, Op. 17 for orchestra at the 4th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.

The piece was performed by the Great Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio conducted by Jan Krenz on 21st September 1960 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.
