Description

The Polish premiere of Elliot Carter's String Quartet No. 1 at the 4th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.

The piece was performed by the Parrenin Quartet on 19th September 1960 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Hall.

It consists of three movements:

  1. Fantasia. Maestoso - Allegro scorrevole;
  2. Allegro scorrevole - Adagio;
  3. Variations.
