Description

The Polish premiere of Bohuslav Martinů's String Quartet No. 5, H. 268 at the 4th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.

The piece was performed by the Novak Quartet (Bohuslav Purger - 1st violin, Dusan Pandulla - 2nd violin, Josef Podjukl - viola, Jaroslav Chovanec - cello) on 18th September 1960 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Hall.

The work consists of four movements:

  1. Allegro ma non troppo;
  2. Adagio;
  3. Allegro vivo;
  4. Lento, Allegro.
