The performance of Alexander Raichev's Symphony No. 2 'The New Prometheus' at the 5th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Konstantin Iliev on 17 September 1961 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.

It is composed of six movements:



  1. Prologue. Andante;
  2. Allegro con fuoco;
  3. Scherzo. Presto;
  4. Andante;
  5. Fuga. Allegro moderato.
  6. Epilogue.
