Description

The world premiere of Wojciech Kilar's Herbsttag for female voice and string quartet based on Rainer Maria Rilke's poem at the 5th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by Krystyna Szostek-Radkowa (mezzo-soprano) and the Silesian Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Karol Stryja on 24 September 1961 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.
