Description

The Polish premiere of Alban Berg's Lulu-Symphonie at the 5th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by Stanisława Marciniak (soprano) and the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Karol Stryja on 20 September 1961 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.


It consists of five movements:

  1. Rondo (Andante i Hymn);
  2. Ostinato (Allegro);
  3. Lulu's Song (Comodo);
  4. Variationen (Moderato, Grandioso, Grazioso. Fenere, Affetuoso and Thema;
  5. Adagio (Sostenuto, Lento, Grave).
