Description

The Polish premiere of Edgar Varèse's Offrandes for soprano and chamber orchestra at the 5th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by Marie-Thérèse Escribano and the Ensemble 'Die Reihe' under the direction of Friedrich Cerha on 19 September 1961 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall.

It consists of two parts:

  1. Chanson de La-haut;
  2. La croix du sud.
