Description

The performance of Anton Webern's Cantata No. 2, Op. 31 for soprano, bas, mixed choir and orchestra at the 6th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music.


The work was performed by Halina Łukomska (soprano), Jerzy Artysz (bas) and Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski Krakow Philharmonic under the direction of Andrzej Markowski on 22 September 1962 at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall. The choir was prepared by Józef Bok.

The cantata consists of six movements:


  1. Sehr lebhaft;
  2. Sehr verhalten;
  3. Sehr bewegt;
  4. Sehr lebhaft;
  5. Sehr massig;
  6. Sehr fliessend.
